Record Locking
Previous Topic  Next Topic

Several users can simultaneously view the same record but only one can modify it at any time. Changes made by the first user to save a record being edited simultaneously on more than one workstation are successful. When the other users attempt to save their changes to the same record they are warned that the record has changed since they started editing. They can then decide what to do based on the choices presented.

Bulk updates, such as global modifications using the Replace command in Stock and Contacts, may fail if any of the records to be updated are currently being edited by any other user on the system. If this occurs the changes should be carried out when there is less activity on the system.
