Configuring and Managing Suppliers

Before you can use PacStream EDI:

• You must be registered with Pacstream and have an account set up with them.
• Have a current license from InfoMining to use Pacstream EDI within Bookmine

Once you have your account and a license from InfoMining you can proceed to configure EDI via Pacstream.

1. Go to the Main Switchboard and click the User Options commmand. A password is required. The password is either the standard user confirmation password or an Admin password depending on how Bookmine is configured.
2. Click on the PacStream EDI command
3. Click on the tab Manage PacStream Suppliers

The PacStream Suppliers screen is displayed showing a list of all the suppiers you can order from electronically. This list is controlled by Pacstream and can change over time.

Before you can send purchase orders to any of these suppliers you have to link each Pacstream Supplier to the corresponding Contact record in your Bookmine that represents that supplier. The names in Bookmine may be the same as those used by Pacstream but can be different. For example you may have a Bookmine record for Alliance Distribution but the equivalent supplier in PacStream is called Alliance Distribution Services. Another example is you may have a record for Elsevier and the Pacstream supplier is called Elsevier Australia. Due to this ambiguity you have to match each supplier manually. Configuring Suppliers

For example to configure Alliance Distribution Services:

1. Click the Configure button adjacent to Alliance Distribution Services.
2. You are prompted to locate the equivalent Supplier in Bookmine using the familiar search screen.
3. Enter Criteria to find the supplier (in this case enter Alliance into the Quick Find field) and press enter
4. A list of possible matches is displayed. Select the one you use for Alliance Distribution Services. Bookmine will accept the supplier even if it is not corect (note UBD has been incorrectly linked to Alliance Distribution Services above. Avoid this.)
5. You are now ready to order electronically from Alliance.

Repeat this for every suppilier that has Not configured Yet!! in the Bookmine Supplier name column.

Adding a new supplier is only required if the supplier is not already in ther list of Pacstream Suppliers.
