Configuration:

• Subscribe to an SMS service (see below for an example service)
• Working in Bookmine - from the main switchboard – User Options – click the SMS Texting via Mobile Phones command button and follow the instructions.

Using SMS Texting

General

Once configured double clicking on a mobile phone number in the main Contacts screen brings up a box where you enter your message. Click Send to send it. The SMS is queued in the email Outbox and send on the next send cycle.

Special Order Alert - Receiving - allocation

Once configured you are prompted in the receiving cycle to send an SMS if the customer has a valid Mobile phone number recorded against them. The message sent lets them know the book they ordered has arrived. Your business name and the book title is included in the message.  The SMS is queued in the email Outbox and send on the next send cycle.

Example SMS Services

Included below is an example SMS service called Message Media that you can subscribe to. InfoMining is not connected in any way with this service and makes no undertakings about the quality or value for money of the service they provide. However we have used them and find they are responsive and efficient. Their service also fits in with the requirements of Bookmine.

The service attracts a one-off setup fee and a monthly fee which includes a number of free SMS messages. Sign up to the plan that suits the number of texts you expect to send on average over a month.

Messages from 1 to 1,000 are charged at 20.0 cents each.
Messages from 1,001 to 5,000 messages at 18.2 cents each.
Messages from 5,001 to 25,000 messages at 16.6 cents each.
Messages from 25,001 to 50,000 messages at 15.0 cents each.
Messages from 50,001 are charged at 14 cents each.
Delivery Reports (if selected)  messages at 10 cents each.
