Finding messages
Bookmine organises all your email by automatically linking them to corresponding Contact records and using the Filtering rules to filter them into General folders based on the rules you have set up. To display all emails linked to a person or organisation ( i.e. a contact) go to their record in the main contact screen and click on the Email command button.
Sometimes you want to find emails based on their content or words in the subject line. BookMine provides a versatile search tool that enables you to find messages using the standard View/Find search from the main Messaging form. Using this tool you can find the proverbial needle in a haystack.
You can find emails based on
Working on the main Messaging Form use View/Find Messages (Alt+v) to call up the Search interface to find individual messages or groups of messages. When invoked you are presented with a search form.
Enter criteria in one or more of the fields. You can find messages related to specific Contacts and/or related to content or date sent/received. The results are presented in summary format on the main Messages form.
There are numerous ways to find individual messages so experiment a little. For example you may remember a single word that was used in the body of the email. In that case enter the word preceded by an asterix (*). E.g. entering *post office in the Message Body field will return all messages that contain the words post office anywhere in the body of the message. You could also specify a date range to limit the search, if you know the approximate date the message was received or sent.
Experiment to see how this tool can find almost anything as long as you have a few hints.
